Terms & Conditions

Last updated: May 19, 2026

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using Shared Table. They govern your use of the Platform and outline your rights and responsibilities as a member of our community.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Shared Table ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use Shared Table. These terms apply to all users, contributors, and visitors.

2. Purpose and Scope

Shared Table is a personal recipe collection and community platform designed to help individuals preserve, organize, and share recipes, cooking memories, and food-related stories. The Platform is intended for personal, non-commercial use.

3. Intellectual Property & Third-Party Content

Shared Table enables users to save, link to, and reference recipes from food blogs, cookbooks, and other culinary sources. Users acknowledge that recipes, photographs, and written content sourced from third-party food blogs, websites, and published cookbooks are the intellectual property of their respective authors and creators. Shared Table does not claim ownership of any third-party content imported or linked through the Platform. Users are solely responsible for ensuring their use of third-party content complies with applicable copyright laws and the terms of the original source. Shared Table expressly requires that users: (a) provide clear credit and attribution to the original food blogger, cookbook author, or source whenever content is saved or referenced; (b) use imported recipe content for personal use only, not for commercial redistribution; and (c) preserve any authorship information, source URLs, and attribution data included with imported content.

4. Credit & Attribution Policy

Shared Table is built on a foundation of respect for the culinary community. Food bloggers, recipe developers, and cookbook authors invest significant time and creativity in their work. By using Shared Table, you agree to honor that work by always crediting the original source when saving or sharing a recipe. This means retaining the source name, original URL, and author name associated with any imported recipe. The Platform displays this attribution prominently and users must not remove or obscure it. Shared Table actively encourages linking back to the original food blog or book as a means of supporting the culinary creators whose work enriches this community.

5. Limitation of Liability

Shared Table is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Shared Table, its founders, employees, partners, and affiliates shall not be liable for: (a) Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform; (b) Any claims arising from a user's unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or commercial use of third-party recipe content; (c) Any copyright infringement claims arising from content imported, saved, or shared by users; (d) Any loss of data, recipes, or user-generated content; (e) Any disruption or unavailability of the Platform for any reason. Users assume full responsibility for how they save, use, and share content through Shared Table. Shared Table is not responsible for resolving disputes between users and third-party content creators.

6. User Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for the content you upload, create, or import into Shared Table. You represent that you have the right to use any content you add, and that doing so does not infringe on any third-party rights. You agree not to use Shared Table to reproduce or redistribute copyrighted recipes in a manner that violates the rights of their original authors.

7. Data & Privacy

Your personal data — including your name, email address, and the content you create — is stored securely and is not sold to third parties. You control who has access to your books, recipes, and gatherings. Shared Table uses industry-standard encryption for data transmission. For questions about your data, contact us through the Get in Touch form on the About page.

8. Account Termination

Shared Table reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, including accounts that use the Platform to reproduce and distribute copyrighted content without permission or attribution. Users may delete their account at any time by contacting us.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. When we do, we will update the date below and notify users by email where appropriate. Continued use of Shared Table after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Shared Table shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation, and if necessary, through binding arbitration.
